Belmont's seventh race on Wednesday looks like a contentious one, but this is how i see it:
Straight Money Man enters off two impressive scores at Calder. Trainer Bill Kaplan recently sent this three year old north, after the massive cuts in purse money at Calder. In his last two races, he has laid close to the lead. It will be a big step up in class, but it looks like he's the controlling speed, he has Hall of Famer Edgar Prado in the irons, and shows a bullet five furlong work. Not to mention, but he should be a price. Compromise is a lightly raced four year old gelding owned by Peter Vegso and trained by Bill Mott. A half brother to graded stakes winner Go Between, he won his debut last year over this very course. Since then he has only made two starts, finishing second twice. He is training well but the rail wasn't the best draw for him. Slambino enters the race after running well in his past two starts. If you look at the competition he's faced, hes been racing much better competition, and his last two speed figures are better than the others.
1. Straight Money Man
2. Compromise
3. Slambino
